The Blue Water Task Force collects monthly water quality data at seven locations along the Gallatin River and its tributaries. The seven sites span approximately 25 miles of the river. The site farthest upstream is located at the boundary of Yellowstone National Park. The site farthest downstream is located approximately two miles north of the turnoff to Big Sky. The majority of sites are located near the confluence of the Gallatin River and the West Fork tributary.
